When was the last time you became giddy about spending time with God? I had to ask myself that today. Make no mistake, I love the Lord and look forward to spending time with him, but, Abraham was downright excited. He prepared a feast and washed feet.  There was no obligatory “Lord’s Prayer” or chest crossing.  Abraham met and celebrated with God. It was an honor and a blessing to be in God’s presence.

What if that was the way we saw our relationship with God? What if we truly believed we were honored to be able to meet with the God of the Universe.  Would we set aside time each day to do so? Would we say adoring and honoring things to him.  Would we thank him for his kind gifts that he brought with him? Would we be real with him and set anything we had between us right? Would we humbly intercede for folks we love to the one person that could make a difference?  We have a rare and great honor, I pray that I will treat it as the honor that represents–that is the heart of worship.

God Bless You

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord,[a] do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”

“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.”
