What Love is not—1 Corinthians 13 part 1

It is so easy to replace love with duty. We think if we are saying the right things, if we know the right doctrine, or if we are making a big enough sacrifice, we are showing love.  Truth is that we can speak and sing like an angelic choir, we can be twice as smart as Einstein and twice as wise as Solomon, we can give away all our stuff and our very lives—and still miss the point that Love is what matters.

God has always, does and will always want our hearts.  Our actions are secondary.  If we surrender to him and seek him, the actions will follow.  If we try to earn or maintain favor through behavior, we will always feel inadequate and the feelings will be accurate. Don’t try to earn Gods Love or his Salvation.  Just Love him and allow him to love you back.  Help me, Lord to love and surrender.

God Bless You

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

This is an amazing Journey. I hope you will hear from the Lord, as you seek Him with your heart. Matthew 6:33
