Full Armor–Helmet of Salvation–Various Verses

Today, We are looking at the Helmet of Salvation. In our journey, we have looked at spiritual war and the preparation for it at several different angles.  The last piece of equipment soldiers usually put on is their helmet.  That is because without a head covering the rest of the equipment is pretty useless.  The mind is the control center, and it needs to remain intact when all else fails.

Modern war and even sports like football use technology to assure the head is protected and the mind remains clear.  Spiritually, it is the same.  Unless we are part of God’s family, the other factors are moot.  Salvation is not a checklist or group of individual acts. It is a relationship with God through Christ.  Once that relationship is in place, then the other factors become important.  Without the relationship, the other factors are useless and often seem silly.

We need to know Christ and have that relationship.  We receive Christ by believing in Him and confessing His lordship in our lives.Romans 10:9-10  Once we do it becomes who we are and Whose we are; not what we do to earn God’s favor.  It is pivotal and eternal.  Once we receive Christ Jesus as Lord, then we walk into battle armed with the helmet of salvation and we are eternally safe from the enemy and his desire to destroy us!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding.  Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will Make your paths straight! Proverbs 3:5-6

God Bless You
