There is little doubt that in spiritual war, one must be prepared for every eventuality. Paul had been arrested, beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, and snake bit. Still, he literally continued to share the Gospel until he was executed by Nero. One of the dangers of walking with the Lord is the tendency to get comfortable or careless and leave a portion of your life unguarded. It is those areas that we leave unguarded that the enemy immediately attacks and uses to neutralize or marginalize our ministry and service to the Lord.
Paul looked at every aspect of his life as he set out the scripture about the armor of god. It is important to note that Isaiah also sent out the word in Isaiah 59 about how to allow God to be our armor and our faith and righteousness to cover us. We cannot forget that salvation, peace, truth, faith, righteousness, and God’s word make our way possible.
We must remain vigilant as we travel on this journey. If we get comfortable or complacent, that is when we will be blindsided by an enemy attack. It is our reliance upon God’s word and spirit that brings us through these most difficult times. Paul reminded us that He was pressed down but not defeated, we must remain the same.
For the next few days, we will take a closer look at salvation, peace, truth, faith, righteousness, and God’s word. As we do, It will remind us how to be vigilant in our pursuit of the Lord. In the meantime, stand firm and remain confident that His spirit will guide and direct us.
God Bless You
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed”
Isaiah 59:17
For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Romans 13:11-14
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
2 Corinthians 6:7
…by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left…
