Psalm 33–How Great God Truly Is

David reminds us how great that our God truly is.  We need to celebrate God’s power, His authority, His creativity and His love for us.  David tells us that as we celebrate God we are only doing what makes sense.  After all, God created the universe.  He created the earth, the oceans, the amazing landscape, and all creatures great and small.

Not only did God create it all, He also runs all things.  Nothing that happens escapes God’s vision or plan.  As such, we owe God our reverence as we walk and serve Him each day.  It is no small task to administer this world and culture.  It takes God’s great restraint to allow the enemy to do what he does on our earth.  Still God knows the plan and will intervene when the time is complete.

We need to praise and celebrate God, but we also need to honor and worship Him.  He has given us life, redemption and a promise of eternity in His presence. In exchange, we simply are called to accept HIs gift of salvation and submit to God’s authority and leadership.

It is only fitting that we realize How great our God truly is.  Once we make that recognition, we cannot help but praise and honor Him.

God Bless You

Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
    Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
    make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
Sing to him a new song;
    play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

For the word of the Lord is upright,
    and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
    and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
    he puts the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
    let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
For he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
    he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
    the plans of his heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
