Jesus was making God’s position on life clear; and in this part of His sermon, Jesus wanted people to understand there could only one sovereign on the throne of a person’s life.  Since Adam and Eve, men have been guilty trying to at the least help God out, or, at most replace Him. The fact that He is not visibly walking along, where men can see him–has  empowered people to think that his power and presence spiritually is not sufficient to command our respect, reverence and trust.  We are often willing to wait for a bit; but, not for the short lifetime for God to transform us into His image.

Throughout the Bible,we read story after story about reasonably decent folks simply trying to share their life throne with God.In every case it has ended in horrific disasters.  We are not equipped to be God–it is a gift, after all, that we are even in the lineage! God wants us to choose to let Him lead. He wants us to choose to store up treasures with eternal value. God wants us to trust Him for all aspects of our lives–what we eat, what we wear and where we live! If we are willing to do that, then the Lord will provide all that we need and protect us to the end of the journey.  It is always God’s desire to protect, prepare and provide the best for us.  We simply have to be patient and trust that He will complete what He started!  Verse 33 says it best–“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you!”

Follow ad Trust Him, it is the only way to truly experience his power and peace!

God Bless You

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[c] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[d] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
