The psalmist makes it clear–let those whom have been redeemed speak up! For God’s love endures forever.  In the psalm, the psalmist recounts several sets of circumstances where God’s redeemed have been redeemed. Whether redeemed from oppression, from sin, from attack or from other life circumstance–the common theme is that our God is a redeemer and a loving guiding God.

So often we feel like we are on an island.  No one could understand our plight and God especially does not.  But God has been in the redeeming business for a long time.  He has redeemed folk from their own foolishness, from the evils of others and of life. In all circumstances, he has met folks where they were–and brought them out and into his safety.

He does the same today. So, if one feels entrapped by sin, life of attack of others–God still loves us and wants to redeem and save us–all we have to do is ask.  God has been; and will always be our most beloved redeemer. Thanks Lord!!!

God Bless You

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
    those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands,
    from east and west, from north and south.[a]

Some wandered in desert wastelands,
    finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty,
    and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
    and he delivered them from their distress…

Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,
    prisoners suffering in iron chains,
11 because they rebelled against God’s commands
    and despised the plans of the Most High.
12 So he subjected them to bitter labor;
    they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
    and he saved them from their distress.
14 He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,
    and broke away their chains…

Some became fools through their rebellious ways
    and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
18 They loathed all food
    and drew near the gates of death.
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
    and he saved them from their distress.
20 He sent out his word and healed them;
    he rescued them from the grave.
