Today the message is simple, The Lord God reigns. There is no purer, truer or more fitting message in light of the madness happening across the globe–The Lord reigns. It is very likely that as the psalmist wrote this psalm; life seemed pretty out of control for his time, as well. In the midst of the storm and confusion, the author declares–God Reigns! The world knows it, creation knows it and we know it. Further, since we know it-we need to acknowledge his supremacy.
If then, we know God to be supreme–we should live lives that trust his leadership, reverences his authority and honors his supremacy. We should not try to wrestle back control of our lives–that is a futile and silly course of action. Instead, we should humbly and gratefully submit to God’s lordship and trust that He cares for us, protects us and prepares us for each day’s circumstances. As we allow The Lord to reign, (as if we could do otherwise) He then leads, blesses and completes His work in our lives and the lives of our families. In the end, we have a full and meaningful journey; and a legacy that lives well beyond us and our children.
He is supreme! He needs to be Lord of our lives, since he is Lord of all creation! Will you allow Him to reign in you?
God Bless You
The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2 Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
3 The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty.
5 Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
holiness adorns your house
for endless days.
