There are mornings, when we wake up and are searching for answers to some unanswerable questions. Unexpected illness, job loss or family tragedy that literally sets us on our face before God. But it is in those times that we turn to him–Because he is the only place left to turn.
David, in this psalm knew that in his greatest time of need, he had only one option to trust God. He trusted God because God was his only option for survival and strength. God had been with him from the beginning and had continued to carry him through. He trusted God in both Good times and in bad. There simply was no one like him.
In that same way, we have to continue to trust God. Not simply because of who he is, but also because of who we are in him. He is faithful beyond measure and as such we trust him. He is our Father and He wants nothing more than to bless us. Although trials seem unending, he stays with us in all circumstance. He uses the trials to complete us an to make us leaders for others that struggle. He does not call us to embrace trials, but, he does call us to embrace Him. He will care for us; even when it seems all is lost.
God Bless You
Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry for mercy.
7 When I am in distress, I call to you,
because you answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made
will come and worship before you, Lord;
they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
you alone are God.
