Through the years, God has shown himself to be faithful. While circumstances change, God always remains true, and he listens to the cry of his own. There are times when we feel that we are alone and not going to make it, but, then God reaches in and fishes us out of the depths and replants us on solid ground.
David faced several periods of his life that seemed as though he was abandoned and alone. Yet, in the midst of his darkest points, God appeared and restored him. He knew that God was faithful; even when David had not been. David held on to the truth that we simply have to trust God and allow him to do things in his way and in his time. That is a difficult truth and a worthy discipline. If we will trust God wholeheartedly–as David did, then we will see God do amazing things.
We only have to trust him, follow him and, like David, allow God to place us back on the solid ground. Then we too can sing our praise to the mighty God we serve.
God Bless You
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
4 Blessed is the one
who trusts in the Lord,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.
5 Many, Lord my God,
are the wonders you have done,
the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;
were I to speak and tell of your deeds,
they would be too many to declare
