Psalm 36–Living in a God Shaped World

When we stop to imagine the vastness of God’s love for us, the depth of his care for the world, and the detail by which he keeps track of us–it is hard to fathom a life without him.  Still, there are many that spend their lives plotting to overthrow him, to undermine him, and to abandon completely the principles and model for which we were created.  For them the days are filled with emptiness and their thoughts are always pointed inward.

There is never enough to do, never enough to possess and never enough attention to meet their endless needs.  It does not matter whom they hurt–the 1st and only item upon their agenda is themselves. Conversely, when we begin to focus on God, we become others focused and still God remains faithful to meet our needs abundantly.  He brings peace, sufficiency and hope beyond our wildest expectations.

When we see him in the lives of our young ones, we become elated to see the completion of his word in our lives.  He is all powerful, all knowing and in all places and times simultaneously–nothing escapes him nor does anything surprise or elude his sight. Still he loves us as we are, where we are and specifically because of who and whose we are. His salvation is a gift–given with the purest of motives at just the right time.  We are blessed beyond measure to be in relationship with this, the Almighty God!!!

Go Bless You

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
    your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
    How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter
    in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
    letting them drink from your river of delights.
For you are the fountain of life,
    the light by which we see.
