El HaNe’eman – The Faithful God: Deuteronomy 7:9, I Thessalonians 5:24, 2 Timothy 2:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:3

The faithfulness of God brings hope to a hopeless generation. Throughout history, People have consistently failed to keep their covenants with God and with each other.  The level of disappointment men’s behavior has caused is truly staggering and disheartening.

Conversely, God has remained faithful through time, and He has kept his covenant with Abraham, and with men in general.  As He was literally carving the 10 commandments, the very people he had just liberated were fashioning a golden calf to worship. Still, in the midst of their disobedience and faithlessness, he continued to keep his word and protect, prepare and provide for their every need.

He was also faithful, in that while we were sinners, he came and died for us (Romans 5:8).  It was never anything we did to elicit His amazing sacrifice.  It was His commitment to keep His word–that marshaled our very salvation and restoration. His faithfulness, like his character is timeless, complete and indiscriminate. We are the beneficiaries simply because He loves us.  It is not ours because we deserve it, no; it is ours because He loves us!

Thanks, Lord that you are faithful–even when we are not!

God Bless You

Deuteronomy 7:9

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

I Thessalonians 5:24

He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.

2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
