Making and Being a Disciple–2 Timothy 2 Part 1

This Amazing Journey is not a sprint–it is a marathon. The way we become the most we can be is by training hard, sharing faithfully and serving to the end.  We cannot become distracted by the craziness of life, instead, we must move forward each week not only to grow, but to share what we have learned with a mentor, a companion and a disciple.  As one does that throughout their lives, they quickly find the accountability will help them stay focused, the learning will help them to become more Christlike and the teaching will help them to leave a legacy beyond their own worship.

We have to treat our spiritual existence with great reverence and commitment.  There can be no expectation that it will be perfect–but as we are trained and are investing in others we will see the complete picture of what our lives are to become.  It has always been about moving beyond ones own needs and tending to the needs of others–sharing what one has received in their faith walk is a model of that played out.

We are all equipped to share our story–the impact of Christ in your life is the greatest change agent for others. Never be afraid to ask about or to tell others about his greatness and impact–it is what sets our faith apart!

God Bless You

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
