In a world of broken promises, lived a people whose lives had been turned upside down. After 400 years of slavery, 45 years of marching in the Desert and fighting to regain the land they had been promised—a crazy thing happened. God actually delivered on every promise that he made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What’s more, the people were now settled in their new lives and pleased to be there.
God takes his covenants seriously. Whether it is to free his people or to redeem and renew his relationship with us—God always keeps his word. We, as people, are the ones that do everything to stretch God’s patience. We lie, cheat and steal and chase idols of every shape and size. Still, in the midst of the frailty and deception, God still stands as a father arms open wide and says—My word is good.
We, as his chosen, must trust God’s word and his timing—so that we can rest in his plan for our lives. As we do, the journey will seem pretty twisty and turny. There are trials and battles and times when all seems lost. But, at the end of the day—like the Israelites, you can rest assured God will keep his promises, every one!!!
God Bless You
The total number of towns and pasturelands within Israelite territory given to the Levites came to forty-eight. 42 Every one of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it.
43 So the Lord gave to Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them conquer all their enemies. 45 Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.
