God is Soveriegn–Romans 9 Part 2

The mind and plans of God are beyond our comprehension.  We journey through life trying to not only understand his plan, but, often trying to control it.  God is sovereign—in short he is “Large and in Charge.”

Paul wanted the church to understand that principle with the same clarity as they understood his grace and forgiveness.  No matter the love, God still has the power and authority to call the shots.  For the duration, men have always gladly accepted God’s favor and his kindness—but, very few have accepted his rule and direction for their lives.  Job, Joseph, Moses and Paul are all great examples of God doing mighty things through completely unorthodox methods. No one would understand his plan during its execution—no, the truth is only revealed upon completion.

We have to trust him, follow him, and humbly submit to his leadership—we will probably never know the why of his plan—but neither did Job.  He promises that if we seek him first he will add all other things—Matt 6:33. Help me Lord to seek you first!!!!

God Bless You

Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[d] 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”[e]

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,     and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[f]
