Right and wrong, we all know it is out there. There are people groups around the world that have no written laws and there are nations, like America, that have so many laws, rules and regulations, that it fills a library. God knew from the beginning of time that people would only use the law as a guide or jumping off point to validate what they wanted to do. So, God when creating us imprinted us with the two basic “laws”. They were to Love him and to love and serve others.
When we look into our lives, we each have a desire to believe in someone that is bigger and more than ourselves. Those of us that know God find peace and hope in him and gladly seek him. Others, since the dawn of time have sought, other things to fill that void–at the end of the day, they lose hope and become selfish. When we serve God, it compels us to serve others and humble ourselves. In that pursuit, we find purpose and fulfillment–Knowing life is so much bigger than us. Others, however, seek to only serve themselves. In their pursuit, they are never fulfilled and grow more dissatisfied at each turn never realizing that we were made for so much more.
In the end, the two basic laws still remain–love God and Love others—All the laws of men are contained in those two principles. If we follow them, we will know him and become like him. Pretty amazing, when you think about it!
God Bless You
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
