Follow Me–Exodus 23 Continued

When we remember that God is the creator and master planner, it is not very difficult to understand his desire to lead. As any father, He simply wanted to minimize the struggles for his freed children as they moved toward the land he promised them. All he asked was that they listen and do what he said. In return, he promised to dissolve their opposition and bless their health and families. It seemed like a great trade for the former slaves. No sickness, no war, plenty of food and a free walk into the land God prepared for them—in exchange, faithfulness and remaining separate from the world culture of the time.

We are called to do the same. Trust and follow him—as we do he will protect, provide and prepare us for the eternal life he prepared for us. It is difficult to stay focused on the Lord with all the noise the world unleashes. It becomes discouraging that the godless seem to be the most successful and happy. Often, we lose focus and act just like the world, simply because it seems easier. If we will follow him and do as he says, here are two of my favorite promises, that he has made. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness—and all these things will be added to you!” Matthew 6:33    “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

 God Bless You

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. 22 If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you. 23 My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out. 24 Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces. 25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
