So, why bother? God created the world.  He created life and man to have fellowship with him. Man rejected God’s plan and continuously found ways to walk away from God. God tried everything to get the attention of men.  Floods, fire, captivity, judges, prophets, priests and kings all were used by God to lead his people to a right relationship with him. But, none of his attempts seemed to work. So what does one do when they have tried everything else? Well, God sent his son. God, in the form of man, emptied himself of his theistic powers and status and humbled himself to be a man, a servant and a sacrifice for us.

It was the picture of true love.  Sadly, when Jesus tried to show this religious leader why he was there, Nicodemus simply could not grasp the depth of love the creator and master of the universe has for us–his prize creation.  To God, we are the treasure.  We are priceless and of such great value–that he was willing and did give up all that he had to restore his relationship with us. Still, after all he did, men still refused to believe that he loved them and wanted that relationship. Additionally, they desired their independence more than the freedom and life he made available.

What about us? What about you? Is his love and sacrifice worth your submission and devotion? After years of following him, I say absolutely! I would not change one day of following him.  He is the model of true love and I am grateful to be a part of his family and his eternal plan.

God Bless You

12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[g]

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
