Psalm 37:1-9–Refocus

Sometimes we have to refocus. The pressures of the world and our own personal fears and trials–cause our focus to be drawn from God.  Often once we lose our Godly focus, we tend to allow the fears of life and our jealousy of others to take over.  We often become jealous of those that have ignored or set God aside, because they seem to be succeeding and prospering while those that follow God often struggle and barely make it.  The word from the Lord is simple—“Don’t worry, I have you and this in my control.”

God has been in the life journey business  for a long time.  He loves his children, and uses the trials and struggles of life to build our character and to conform us into his image.  We need to treasure the discipline and stretching of our lives as a sign of God’s love and care for us.  The world and the godless often seem to float through life, and in some ways it may be true.  They are not being transformed.

Make no mistake, however, this part of the journey is only a very small part of eternity.  We need not worry about what is happening for those that have ignored and abandoned God, we need simply to focus upon his plan for our lives and how we can honor him.  If we do, we will see his fruit in our lives and his influence on the lives we hold dear.  It is an opportunity to leave a legacy of faith that will not only make us strong, but, it will affect our families for generations.

God Bless You

Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong.

For like grass, they soon fade away.Like spring flowers, they soon wither.

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.Trust him, and he will help you.

He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.Don’t worry about evil people who prosperor fret about their wicked schemes.

Stop being angry!Turn from your rage!Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm.

For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.
