And Then it Wasn’t. Genesis 19 final

We wake up each day expecting life to remain the same. We are an optimistic bunch as we never think it will happen to us. The people in Sodom and Gomorrah woke that day expecting to work and play as they did every other day. Their evil had become so intense that it compelled God to simply stop it. So on that day, the city was completely obliterated.

We cannot afford to be so self important that we are swept away with the evil of the world and its culture. It is very bold and prideful to assume the way things are will never change. We must live as if our time is short. We must follow God joyfully and humbly. We must act with eternity in mind– not just today.

You simply never know when what is will not be anymore.

God Bless You

By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land.

Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens.

Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.

But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.
