Who would have thought it possible, men became so evil that God had to say–ENOUGH! It wasn’t just the little things, it became so pronounced, that just when God thought he had seen evil at its lowest, men found ways to take it down another level. Scripture sums it up with 4 words, “It Broke God’s Heart”! So God knew it was time to do something about it.
Fast forward to today, 2014—We celebrate evil in every form. We should have clued in when over half of television became reality TV! “You Can’t Make This Stuff UP!!!” We have again sunken to a level of base evil that rivals that of Genesis 6. It is safe to assume that we have again broken the heart of our Heavenly Father. If we could simply learn from the past, we would fall on our knees and beg for God’s forgiveness and turn our culture away from this wretched depth of sin.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises, “If my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves, turn from their wicked ways and pray—then I will hear their prayers, forgive their sin and heal their land!” Like any Father, God holds out hope that we will return like the prodigal son—if we do, he will forgive like the Prodigal Dad! Please join me in prayer and humble repentance!
God Bless You
3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with[b] humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.”
4 In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.
5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
