Let It Go!!!–! Peter 2 Revisited

Frozen–a great Disney flick! The Part that grips us all is the scene where Elsa sings Let it Go.  She has lived a life in fear and finds that her worst fears are realized.  She runs away to the hills and in a moment of clarity drops all the baggage

and becomes herself.  She is totally free of the chains that had her bound and the Song–“Let it Go” screams the cry we all are screaming.  She and we all want to be free from the private prisons we have built for ourselves.

Unlike the movie, we have a true answer to our imprisonment–Christ the true cornerstone.  As a member of his Family, he cries out to us–LET IT GO!!!  We do not have to remain shackeled to the chains of guilt, shame and sin that entangles those without salvation.  We can instead be free and joyful knowing he has paid the price and broken the chains forever.  We also have his spirit to guide and comfort us!  So as Elsa would so happily sing—LET IT GO!!!!

God Bless You

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

The Living Stone and a Chosen People

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”[b]

Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,

“The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,”[c]
