The hardest concept we have to grasp as followers of Christ is the concept of “Righteousness that comes from Faith”. It is a little complex because as we trust God and allow him to lead, our attitudes and behavior conform to his image. The trick is, to realize that it is not the behaviors that save you it is the trust in following him that saves you. That is why the 11th Chapter of Hebrews is profiles in trust–not activities.
Enoch trusted God so much that God just took him Home without dying. Noah trusted God enough to build an ark for 120 years and get in and shut the door, without one drop of rain. It was and is the trust that matters. The activities are the bonus. He asks us to trust him and to follow him–in all our ways; then he will make our paths straight and add the desires of our heart, (Proverbs 3:5-6 and Matt 6:33).
God Bless You
It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.”[a] For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
7 It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.
