Accountibility–Hebrews 3 Part 2

We are all frail human beings.  There is not one person, who while under attack, is not apt to fail. The enemy knows that.  That is why he roams like a lion to and fro around the earth seeking whom he may devour.  So, the trick becomes placing ourselves in situations where we are protected and accountable.  It is so easy to lose focus for a small period of time.  Stress, trials, depression or simply busy schedules can cause us to take our eyes off of eternity.  When we do, the enemy pounces and seeks to neutralize us or better yet destroy us.

Knowing that, we need to watch each other’s back.  We need to pray, to encourage and ask the difficult questions to each other.  As we build accountability into our lives, we also build strength in the family.  We dispel the lies that we are alone.  We defeat the argument that we have to be strong and do this on our own.  We humble ourselves before our Lord and admit we need him and each other.  Finally, we defeat the enemies plan to separate us from the group to destroy us.  We need the Lord and we need each other.  Do not fear accountability, it can be your best friend…Literally!

God Bless You

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.[f] Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. 13 You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. 14 For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. 15 Remember what it says:

“Today when you hear his voice,
    don’t harden your hearts
as Israel did when they rebelled
