The Goal–Colossians 2 Part 1

Why Go to all the trouble? Why do we continue to contend with the daily battles of this world? God has us on a journey to prepare us for eternity, but, frankly–it is not about us. The way we walk and the way we live not only prepares us, but encourages and unites others in the faith.  Often the things we accomplish spiritually–while seemingly unnoticed, impact the lives of folks around the world.

There is a story of the old evangelist, Mordecai Ham  who at the end of his ministry did a revival meeting in Charlotte, NC.  The meeting was not well attended and the response was very low. In fact on the climax of the meeting, Ham having preached his heart out gave the alter call. No one came until finally that evening only one farm boy came forward.  Ham, discouraged decided that evening to retire. He felt like he was not impacting anyone any more.  Oh, the farm boy–Billy Graham!  We must contend until he calls us home.  We will not know until heaven, what a difference we have made.

God Bless You

I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

This is an amazing Journey. I hope you will hear from the Lord, as you seek Him with your heart. Matthew 6:33
