So You Want to Know What Lies Ahead??? Matthew 24 part 1

It is riveting to think how much Jesus knew. To have the mind of God and to know what would happen all the time—what a cool gift and onerous burden.  Jesus walked among us for Thirty-three years not only knowing what was to befall him, but also what was to befall the world.  Still he showed the world a glimpse of what God looked like on the inside and outside.  He showed the ministry, wisdom and absolute disdain for self-righteousness shared by the Father.  So this discussion about what was to come was a rare glimpse into God’s ability to see things with his omnipresent eyes—anywhere and any when.  God does not see time or space as we do—linearly.  He sees it all at once.  That is why he knew at the creation of time and space the ultimate end…an end where every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to God’s Glory and praise.

His prophecies are our hope.  His view of eternity our joy.  No matter how difficult this life becomes, we know he will have prepared a place for us for eternity with him in Heaven.

With that hope, we are armed for battle.  We can face the lies of the enemy, the trials of this world and the circumstances of this life with an assurance that this is not our home.  OR we can get lost in those battles, trials and circumstances and live a defeated and deflated life.  That is the other great gift, the Gift to choose this day whom you will serve.  My mentor YODA also known as pastor Don and I came up with the name CHOOSE-Day. When some person asks what day it is we tell them of course that today is Choose-day.  We have to walk by faith, stay in prayer and hide his word in our heart so that, on the especially grievous battle days, we like the great leader Joshua we can choose this day to serve the Lord.  No excuses, no free passes—we simply stat each Choose-day knowing he is God and we are not.  Choose this day whom you will serve…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

God Bless You

HAPPY CHOOSE-DAY

Choose this Day whom you will serve…as for me and my House we will serve the Lord

24 As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to him the various Temple buildings. But he responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”

Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?[a]

Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.[b] 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations[c] will hear it; and then the end will come.
